If you’ve forgotten what the person you’re talking to has said, or why the options on the dialogue wheel are there, wait for a few seconds on the dialogue wheel. Middle options and Neutral and have no rewards. The upper half is Paragon and the lower half is Renegade, which tend to award Morality points.

The upper and lower halves of the wheel align with a Morality, unless you're in the Investigate menu.

The options on the right will advance the conversation proper, and are associated with specific Morality viewpoints.

Investigate options allow you to learn more about the current situation, the world and its characters, typically by having an Investigate option that lets you choose from a list of subjects to ask about.

Almost all dialogue wheel layouts put Investigate options on the left, and conversation advancement options on the right.
